MACC offers individuals, companies, organizations and territories the opportunity to offset their carbon footprint by financing ethical projects with a real impact on the planet and the population, at very competitive costs. Forestry and land use's high quality carbon certificates range from US$11 to US$30/tCO2e. MACC offers purchase options from US$2 to US$5/tCo2e (depending on volumes) thanks to the unique carbon density of the forests and peatlands to be saved and/or restored in the selected project area and the financing model based on micro revolving credits to farmers, directly injected into community economic activities preserving and increasing forest carbon sinks.

MACC is developing an ambitious program in 120 territories with 500 communities in 12 provinces holding 80% of DRC's carbon stocks. Our economic model addresses the poverty of peri-forest communities, the main cause of deforestation, at the household level where people cut down the forest for survival. At the community level, ancestral practices and spatial monitoring are effective conservation and natural regeneration solutions put in place. MACC does not do REDD+ (public projects conducted over large jurisdictional areas). MACC carbon credits are a by-product of promoting sustainable agricultural and forestry practices.

he DRC has 10% of the world's forests, 50% of Africa's forests, the second largest tropical forest after Brazil and 60% of the Congo Basin forests, the world's largest forest carbon sink. The Congolese forests store and capture about 180 billion tons of CO2, but have lost more than 25 million hectares in 30 years. More than 70% of the population lives on small-scale slash-and-burn agriculture and forest harvesting, resulting in the annual loss of more than 1 million ha of forest and an estimated 1.5 billion tons of CO₂e emissions from deforestation. To achieve its Glasgow commitment to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030, the DRC must save (avoid deforestation) 10 million ha, including 4 million ha of very high carbon primary tropical forest.

MACC's objective is to conserve 10 Mha of dense tropical forest and peatland, avoid deforestation of one million ha of primary forest, restore 4 Mha, develop 5 Mha of family agro-ecology, create agricultural value chains to improve farmers' incomes, and lift 10 million people out of extreme poverty, provide drinking water, quality health care, and clean energy to 15 million people in high social vulnerability, train and support 1 million young eco-entrepreneurs, empower and guarantee the rights of 4 million women and girls, and control the high population through education and empowerment of girls.
